Book Review from Amazon.co.uk site

The best presentation advice book I've read,
Reviewer: A reader
I've been presenting with technology for a number of years now and this book is the first I've ever seen with any fresh advice in it. 'How to be a corporate evangelist' is a brilliant and much needed update to all the existing 'presentation skills' guides because it is written specifically for people that present with, or on behalf of, technology. Russell Prue covers everything from basic technology (data projectors) through to more advanced technologies such as mobile phone texting, voting systems and portable computers.
All this isn't to say that the book neglects more traditional presentation advice because there are lots of tips on preparing your room, setting your audience at ease, etc.

In summary, I recommend this book to anyone that presents and wants to improve their technique or gain confidence.

An Interview with the Author

The book is an essential guide to being a Corporate Evangelist, and has tips and advice on how to really engage with your audience in both an exhibition and seminar environment.  Russell is an award winning presenter and has been attracting and wowing audiences for the past 21 years.  He has an excellent reputation as being one of the leading speakers in the ICT industry.  If you are serious about improving the effectiveness of your exhibition stand or seminar presentation this is essential reading.  This book could save you the cost of a training course.

Russell, why did you write this book?

I decided to write "Science of Evangelism" because I wanted to pass on some of the expertise that I have gained from presenting and demonstrating products and services to audiences over the past 20 years.

What is the science behind your book?

Corporate Evangelism is a relatively new concept, although some companies have been using the term for a while.  I used the title Chief Evangelist when I worked for a major PC manufacturer here in the UK.  The science behind being enthusiastic, lively and entertaining is about having the ability to transfer that enthusiasm to your audience.  Understanding what the right conditions are for the audience to enjoy your presentation and being able to communicate in the most effective way possible are all elements of that science.

Isn't this just another presentation skills book?

No, this isn't just another one of those presentation skills books, the Science of Evangelism goes beyond the most polished presentation skills, it is about the whole concept including demonstrating products and services and how to get more from your presentations.  Standing and delivering a talk is only a tiny bit of being a Corporate Evangelist.

Who do you think will benefit from reading your book?

The book is aimed at people who would like to get more from their presentations and those that would like to understand how to motivate and inspire audiences.  I suspect that CEOs and main board directors may also find the book useful as a training resource for their colleagues.  I have seen so many opportunities thrown away because someone did a really poor presentation, you can have the best deal in the market, but if you can't communicate that with a passion someone else will.  It is time to banish poor presentations from our corporate world there is no place for them in the 21st century.  If anyone is serious about improving their impact at events and exhibitions then this book is essential reading.

Corporate Evangelism is the new business skill of the 21st Century
and bad presenting is the new
anti-social behaviour of the exhibition industry

This book could save you the cost

of a Presentation Skills Training course
